Drawing Shakespeare on a Surface Pro 3 using Fresh Paint
A few years back, tablet artist Paul Kerkal introduced me to drawing on a tablet. Windows 8 tablets are particularly well suited to this, especially the new Surface Pro 3 which has over 250 levels of pressure sensitivity and Palm Block technology, so you can write and draw directly onto the screen as you normally do on paper. When combined with an application such as Fresh Paint, these really come to life.
So to highlight just how brilliantly the new Surface Pro 3 supports a stylus much better than I ever could, artist James Mylne was tasked to recreate famous paintings from the National Portrait Gallery on the tablet and then have them “unveiled” at the Gallery.
