Blaise Aguera y Arcas demos augmented-reality maps
Clearly, Blaise Aguera y Arcas is a very clever and gifted man or, someone who was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time (but i believe that that is part of being gifted). Below are two great presentations that are worth watching, best in reverse if you have not before seen the Photosynth demo from 2007. Photosynth is something that I’ve played with before (Boat-o-Synth) and keep promising to play with again (might see how it handles the snow in London this week). But make sure to check out the demo of Bing Maps including integrated historical photos, images brought in from Flickr, integrated Photosynths and live video streaming. Truly inspirational stuff and if you could bring this to my mobile, i’d be very happy. And not likely to be talking to you if we were out and about on the town.
